This video is by no means new news, but every time I see this video, I can’t help but watch it many times in a row.
A few things before I link to this video.. for some background for those of you not knowledgable about what the video is about….
This video shows what is essentially a street legal car running a 1/4 mile in 9.5 seconds at somewhere in the mid 140 MPH range (that’s my guess at least). Its AWD, but notice how squirly the car still gets… he’s spinning ALL of the tires for the first 3 gears.. how loud the turbo spooling up is.. the sound of the turbo sounds sort of like a whistle. It even spools up very fast.. watch the middle gauge on the bottom, which is the boost gauge. I just can’t even imagine what it would be like to ride/drive a car like that.
Lastly.. for a little perspective, stock Vipers at this elevation usually run a 1/2 mile here in 13.2 seconds.. this car did it here in the low 10 second range with a failing turbo. I offered to let him borrow my 20g, but he just kind of laughed at the offer.
