Cams have been getting more and more popular in the DSM camp in the past year or two as people are realizing how much the stock 4G63 head can flow.
This being the case, aftermarket cams that are at least a little bit more aggressive is a no brainer. Of course you really don’t want to just buy aftermarket cams and rely on them being within spec– its a good idea to pick-up some adjustable cam gears to get them degreed correctly.
However, just like cams, no adjustable cam gear is created equally. This thread on NABR about Adjustable Cam Gears for DSM’s / 4G63’s is no doubt a bit dated, but still pretty valuable:
