I finally got around to watching this weeks episode of “Rides” on TLC, (the FastForward Fastback episode), and it’s good stuff.
The last episode was interesting to watch them re-do the Shelby Cobra, but it just seemed like a long Ford Commercial. Although the cars shown on this show (except for the sleeper Corvette) would all be impossible for the hobbyist such as myself to build, it definitely helps me to get more motivated to finally get back out in the garage, and finish my project car.
Right now I’m working on selling the motorcycle which will hopefully free up a little spending money to start buying engine parts again, as well as at least get the 6 bolt block inspected and prepped for some new slugs and rods. Also watching all of the streetable cars on Rides, it keeps me in check to make sure I don’t totally gut the car and turn it into a full fledged race car– I just want something that breathes fire, but is still okay to drive a couple of times a week to work and so forth.
