I’ll admit that if I’m going to listen to radio, I mostly enjoy talk radio. I’d been listening to mostly KHOW lately, but they completely redid their line-up recently, and I don’t really have any interest in the new line-up. I don’t mind listening to conservative radio as I do tend to agree with conservative fiscal policies and at times they at least in history have had a good sense of civil liberties (unlike the “lets make everything regulated and complicated” Democrats.. that tends to be my only beef with them). It also gets me a little riled-up every now and then which isn’t a bad thing since I tend to err on the side of the left on most issues. However, if you’re going to populate your schedule with asshats like Bill O’Reilly, you’ve definately lost me as a listener.
However, yesterday I found out that we have a “progressive” talk radio station in the Denver area again! Coming from Boulder, 760 AM now syndicates Air America Radio, as well as the Phil Hendrie Show (which was removed from KHOW). The interesting thing is that it’s a Clear Channel station, so I have to wonder if it’s some sort of experiment or something. I don’t expect it to be around for long, but I guess we’ll see what happens. I haven’t got to listen to it that much yet, but I like what I hear so far. I’m definately looking forward to listening to Al Franken this afternoon while I code monkey away as usual..

Republican tendencies?! I’m shocked, apalled, and dismayed! I can’t believe it… aren’t there any true bleeding heart liberals left out there?
I’ve never hidden the fact that I don’t like the Democrats stance on Civil Liberties. I think they would take the chance to monitor and regulate every last thing if they could– to the point of violating free speech. I was always a fan of Clinton, but one of his biggest mistakes as President was the passage of the DCMA. It pales in comparison to the Patriot Act, but it’s definitely number 2 on my shit list.
On the other hand, I think the current administration is also very extreme, and does not represent your typical Republican views. I find it really hard to believe that they are throwing any support behind HR 4077 (the Piracy Deterrence and Education Act). I’m sure RIAA and MPAA are throwing a lot of money everyone’s way about that, though…
Overall I would consider myself on the left side of the fence, but I’m a fan of government not getting in the way of day to day activities and business for the most part.
Well, that would be the DMCA.. yeah, I’m retarded.
