I’m home tonight trying not to spread my cold, and came across a bit about ODB dying while in the studio.
NEW YORK (AP) — The rap artist O.D.B., whose utterly unique rhymes, wild lifestyle and incessant legal troubles made him one of the most vivid characters in hip-hop, collapsed and died inside a recording studio Saturday. He was 35.
O.D.B. had complained of chest pains before collapsing at the Manhattan studio, and was dead by the time paramedics arrived, said Gabe Tesoriero, a spokesman for O.D.B.’s record label, Roc-a-Fella.
Huh, who’d of thought? I’ve been organizing my totally stupidly huge collection of Mp3’s in the past few days to select 40 GB of them to put on my new iPod and came across his “Return to the 36 Chambers” album realizing I hadn’t listened to it in a few years. That album is pretty wack but genius, not to mention quite humorous.

Given the time zones, I think we posted about this at the same time.
