Wes McKinley, the Democratic Candidate for District 64 (the area I grew-up in) was elected to the State House last week. I actually was paying attention to this earlier, but am now just getting around to posting about it. His wife was one of my teachers in High School, and I also had a class with his youngest daughter when I was a Freshman whom I got to know fairly well at the time since it was a study hall and we always ended-up talking. This is a bit of a surprise to me as that area of the state is HIGHLY Republican. He also ran during the last election for Congress, but didn’t fare nearly as well.
Wes is best known in that area as a real cowboy, but regionally and nationally he’s known as the leader of the Grand Jury who spoke-out about the Justice Department covering-up Nuclear crime at Rocky Flats.
His successful election contributed to the Democrats being the majority in the State House again.
