A friend I went to High School with, Michael Thompson (who apparently goes by Mike now) was drafted out of HS in the 6th round of the Major League Baseball draft in 1999, and I like to see what he’s up to every now and then using the power of the intarweb. It looks like he’s back at an AA team again this season, the Mobile Bay Bears, and hopes to get promoted to AAA this year. I also found a prospect report about him as well.
Mike left the High School I graduated from, sometime in 1998 (I think?) to go play for Lamar, which has produced a lot of State Championship baseball teams as well as at least a couple of Major League players including Doug Brocail and Scott Elarton (Elarton used to play for the Rockies). Here’s hoping he gets promoted this year!
