Nothing In Particular

27Nov05

Seems like it’s been a busy couple of weeks and this one is not even done yet. Let’s see, for a quick run down of what I’ve been up to:

  • I finally found a small dining set which was relatively inexpensive that I liked and picked it up. The matching coffee table and end tables were also on sale, so I decided to pick those up as well. I still don’t have chairs for it, but I’ll post pictures when those finally come in (though I keep changing my mind about what chairs I want).
  • On a related note, in the past couple of months I’ve also finished-up my home theater, picked-up some artwork to cover-up the tall bare walls, and bought a new bedroom set; the house is finally starting to come together a bit. I have a couple of projects I’d like to finish during my time off of work during the Holidays.. from there I’d like to get a new desk, new couches, and then finally start replacing the flooring with ceramic tile and laminate flooring. By the time all that stuff is done, I’ll hopefully be in a position to sell the townhome and pick-up an older house in Denver somewhere (another 2 years or so?).
  • I took a quick jaunt to my hometown to see my dad for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, and came back on Friday.
  • Went out with a friend on Friday just to grab some dinner and a couple of drinks yet ended-up being driven home in my car at 4 AM and waking-up with a hangover on Saturday. I seem to have these sorts of moments about once a year, so I’ve met my quota for 2005 at least. Luckily it’s not a habit by any means or I’d be in trouble.
  • Note to self: Irish Coffee (aka, Jameson with coffee in it) is not a way to get off of the sauce for the evening. Or maybe I’m just not anywhere even close to being Irish despite my last name.
  • Saturday I turned 27, but didn’t do anything but lounging around the house, talking to a few people on the phone, and eating some greasy pizza and wings to get some nourishment back. Whiskey is the devil.
