Vacation, How I Will Miss Thee

03Jan06

Sadly I must start the work thing again tomorrow.. just when I was getting used to being a bum. Actually it seems like I got quite a bit done over my little break though it seemed like most everyone I knew was out of town so I didn’t get to socialize as much as I did last year. Anyhow, for a little breakdown..

  • Got the yearly physical out of the way.. passed just fine as usual. Also found-out that my new doc is a racer.. I think we spent more time talking shop than doing the physical itself.. ha.
  • Discussed some behaviorial issues with the hound with the vet.. she’s now on “Dog Prozac” and so far is a completely different dog… in a good way
  • Got a bit of my old furniture sold and was finally able to finish-up this round of changes to the dining area and living room
  • Finally cleaned-out my garage… now I just need more shelving and so forth to organize the stuff that’s left
  • Did the annual cleaning of my closet and donated assloads of decent but dated clothes and shoes to ARC
  • Cleaned the carpets
  • Unexpectedly had a chance to interview with Google for a senior level position
  • Spent time with someone relatively new and very wonderful who I hope I can continue to impress enough to keep me around for awhile

Speaking of wonderful, if there happen to be any independently wealthy readers who’d like to financially sponsor me to just go to school I’d appreciate it. In return I can offer expertise in computers and the intaratron (obviously), turbocharged small displacement engines, some knowledge about finding “lines” when on a race track (and I don’t mean the kind of lines that Chuck Norris will kick your ass for doing), cooking depending on how good you are already, obsecure facts, ecclectic music, bits and pieces about farming and ranching, awesome wrestling moves, teach you the finer points about how to tackle someone properly, and maybe I’ll even throw in something like Ohm’s law just for fun.

Hi Brandon! I was checking your site after some time and realised that you’ve changed it’s design. To my surprise, it scrolled much slower now than before until i disabled the CSS. Care for usability or design? Just my two cents…

It’s been like ten days and I’m still not quite sure how to respond to your comment. ;) All that I can say is this iteration of the site uses less graphics, CSS, and so forth than the last one.

So I guess that means I have no idea what to tell you about the scrolling thing. I’m not changing the site anytime soon because it works fine for everyone else. :)
